As a Coach and Counselor, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying solution focused and action oriented approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Oasis Psychotherapy is a Manchester-based psychotherapy practice run by Wendy Kite, BA (Hons), Advanced Trainee in Transactional Analysis and NLP Life Coach Practitioner.
Our lives can become complicated and busy - we are often expected to juggle work, children, relationships with friends and family - the list is endless. You may be having difficulties in one or more of these areas.
My goal is to provide you with an Oasis of calm, some time out from your everyday life where you can sit back and discuss your concerns, feelings, thoughts, behaviours, in a safe, confidential, supportive environment.
I can support you in understanding the problems you may be facing - and together we can look at how you may want to make changes to improve your life. Or perhaps you just want some time to talk. It's up to you.
The approach we take can be tailored based on the nature of the issues you may be facing. We may discover that psychotherapy is appropriate to understand what problems you are facing and discuss what changes you could make to improve your life.
Psychotherapy is often used to support clients with problems with relationships, low self-esteem, anxiety , stress, bereavement & loss, repeated behaviour patterns that the client would like to change.
If your problems relate to more specific problems such as a phobia, smoking cessation, weight loss, I can use NLP Techniques for more short term work to resolve these.
With practices based in Urmston, Cheadle and Chorlton I offer an initial, free, 30 minute face to face consultation where we can discuss your needs and I can explain how psychotherapy and/or life coaching could work for you. You can then choose to continue with a 50 minute session straight away, or if you prefer we could arrange follow on sessions of on another date.
If you decide you would like to continue, my rate is £40 per session. I am bound by the ITA Code of Ethics and I am in regular Supervision with a fully qualified PTSTA.
Further information relating to Transactional Analysis can be found at http://www.itaa-net.org/ta/
Please contact me on 07988 007452 for an initial, no obligation discussion.

Profile
Hi, I am a Chartered Psychologist, offering some thinking space....
Maybe you would like some support in moving to a better place in your life? Or need some new skills to achieve things that until now have been out of reach?
Professional psychological counselling can help.
I have over fifteen years experience as a Chartered Psychologist with particular experience in issues relating to anger and emotional difficulties, mental health problems, depression, anxiety, addictions and relationships. I offer face-to-face or online/telephone consultations in cases where that feels more comfortable.
I appreciate that often making the step to "see" a therapist or counsellor may feel strange for some people so arranging an initial consultation (or "chat") may be helpful in order to establish whether it may be something that is likely to benefit you and help you feel more comfortable about what to expect. Sessions are held in a purpose built room and are fully private.
In addition to the individual support I can offer, I also run an accredited programme for working with domestic violence both with victims and perpetrators. Please contact me for details.
I am also looking to put together 2 group based sessions which may be cost effective and have been shown to be particularly helpful when working on the following issues:
1. 10 week anger management course
2. Depression support group
I am able to offer counselling via email/internet if preferable.
If you would like to contact me for further information, or to discuss your situation, please feel free to do so...

Depressed, anxious, problems in a relationship. These are some of the issues that bring people into therapy. Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult.
As I see it, therapy needs to provide a non-judgmental, accepting and supportive space to work on the problems one faces. I strive to treat each person as a unique individual, helping them to direct the treatment that will move them beyond the problems that they are now facing to a life that is hopefully more fulfilling and less painful. It is my aim to help each individual to deal with the issues that are affecting them and causing them the emotional pain that has lead them to seek psychotherapy. I seek to truly listen to each person, to deal with them with respect and work with them as the unique individual that they are. No two people are the same and I do not provide a cookie cutter approach to the work that I do. Each person has his or her own needs, pains, strengths and issues that need addressing.
I have worked as an adult, adolescent and child psychotherapist for 34 years. I specialize in working with adults with depression, anxiety and difficulties in relationships and with children and adolescents with depression, and behavioral difficulties. I have as well worked with parent/child relationships, abuse, and neglect, and issues around sexuality. I currently and in the past have taught courses in working with acting out adolescents, ADHD, depression, primary relationships, and anger. Too often the focus is on the symptom and the underlying problem is ignored. In that situation, problems will resurface in a short time, as the causes for the difficulties have not been dealt with. Psychotherapy needs to look at causes and not simply the overt symptom. Every individual is different and the therapist must respond to each individual and what their needs are.
Patients have described me as 'caring, nurturing, gentle, and direct' as a therapist. Through psychotherapy, we can help make sense of what is feeling wrong, relieve your anxiety and depression, heal wounds, sadness and anger from relationships, grieve losses, and help you improve your self-esteem and regain your ability for closeness and intimacy.
I am psychodynamically oriented and a psychoanalyst, trained at the British Psychoanalytic Institute and the Anna Freud Center. The form of treatment must be based on the particular problems and concerns that each individual brings to therapy. Some individuals only need or want short-term work. Others may need a longer and more intensive form of treatment. The patient needs to see if they feel comfortable with the therapist, as the relationship between patient and therapist is the key to the treatment. Each individual must be seen for who they are and what difficulties they are experiencing. They must be understood both as an individual and in regards to the particular culture they come from, which helps make them who they are. I have experience treating people from various ethnic, national and religious groups. Therapy must deal with the social and cultural issues that impact on the problems of each individual. I am a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, a member of The Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey; Member of the Section of Psychologist/Psychoanalyst Practitioners of the Division of Psychoanalysis of the American Psychological Association; a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association and a Fellow of the International Psychoanalytic Association.
Child Psychotherapy
Children who have experienced considerable change in their lives or who have survived traumatic events need to express and understand their feelings. Children who have behavioral problems are usually expressing by their behavior the fact that they are experiencing emotional problems they are not able to deal with. These problems may be depression, high anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, fear, feelings of rejection etc. Through the therapeutic use of play and talk, children are given the opportunity to discover and express their feelings in a safe and benign environment. When a child is helped to feel that what they feel can be looked at and they will not be criticized, judged or punished, they can gradually change their feelings and behaviors. Therapy allows children to internalize the message that they are good and not bad and that they are loved. It enables them to change their negative views of themselves and their families with a more positive healthy feeling. The pain, anxiety, depression , fear will gradually change to where a child will feel more positively towards themselves and better able to deal with the problems both within themselves and within their families.
What children need Child Therapy?
Children who are dealing with parental conflict, separation or divorce.
Children who have been traumatized (sexual, physical or emotional abuse).
Children who have been adopted or are in foster care.
Children who are dealing with issues of loss, such as illness or death of a loved one.
Children who have been hospitalized or experienced major illness, accidents or disasters.
Children who express feelings of low self-esteem, sadness, depression or who may feel that they do not want to live anymore.
Children who experience high anxiety over issues where this anxiety is not realistic.
Children who are extremely oppositional, unwilling or unable to behave in appropriate ways given their age and developmental stage.
Children who do not seem to be able to make or keep friends, are lonely and or isolated.
Children who are not able to perform academically at their potential.
Children who have witnessed domestic violence.
Children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD)
Children who have experienced serious accidents or disasters.
Signs to be aware of:
Excessive anger, worry, sadness or fear.
Aggressive behavior (hurting others or self).
Inappropriate separation anxiety.
Excessive shyness.
Behavioral regression.
Low self-esteem.
Learning or other school problems.
Sleep, eating or elimination problems.

About me :
I am a practising psychotherapist in Muswell Hill, north London and at Spectrum,a centre for humanistic psychotherapy in north London and a member of the UKCP.I am an accredited psychoterapist and I am in the continued education programme at Spectrum as well as in ongoing supervision.
Before setting up my private practice I worked with families in the voluntary sector where I provided support for families with children under five.I also worked as a a bereavement counsellor in the voluntary sector. My previous work experience includes practising as a lawyer in the City. I am Swedish.
About my beliefs in therapy:
As a humanistic psychotherapist, I believe in self-actualization and the possibility of change. I believe that therapy can enable us to become accepting of ourselves, learning and understanding who we are as well as letting go of outdated ways of responding and behaving.By having therapy,I believe we are far more likely to get a better picture of our behaviours, our power, our resources, passions and feelings and of our choices so that we might make more effective decisions for ourselves and live better.
Therapy enables us to raise our awareness and discover new ways of dealing with issues. It is a space in which to reflect on our lives and choices, gain new understandings and experiment with new behaviours. In my work I believe that we embody our existence and that we as human beings can learn from our bodies and how we organise our physical responses. In terms of orientaion my work is influenced by a number of humanistic therapies, such as Gestalt, the bodywork developed by Stanley Keleman and communication models established by Virginia Satir to name few.
Areas of work:
I work with men and women on a broad range of issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety, relationship difficulties, issues relating to anger and conflict, grief and loss etc.I also work with couples.
I am interested in supporting parents in their role and outside it, where I sometimes see a trend in the way parents lose their sense of self and end up not knowing how to meet their needs. I work with bereavement where I believe in the siginificance of grieving no matter how long ago the bereavement occurred.
I see my clients weekly and each session lasts an hour. I prefer to work open-ended but I am also open to short-term work with a specific number of sessions.
I run What About Me,an ongoing fortnightly group for women who are also mothers, where the aim is to look at self-care and support for ourselves as parents as well as to raise awareness of how we re-enact unresolved issues from our own childhoods.
How to contact me:
If you are interested in working with me or joining the group What About Me please call me for a confidential conversation on 07764 760 931. My practice is in Muswell Hill, N10,ten minutes walk from Highgate tube station on the northern line, alternatively bus 43.The group meets at Spectrum, N4.

New Leaf Life Coaching
Becky Wright Category Life Coaching
Life Coaching helps you determine and achieve personal goals. It enables you to make decisions, grow and develop as a specialist practitioner. Using multiple methods we will help you through the process of setting and reaching specific and immediate goals. You will of course decide what these goals are. Meetings are structured in nature and are focused on specific development areas.
Life Coaching is essentially a non-directive form of development that focuses on improving performance, productivity and developing/enhancing an individuals skills. Time can also be spent exploring stress and techniques to help deal with this in the work place and at home.
Life Coaching assumes you are psychologically healthy and do not require a clinical intervention. It works on the premise that you are self-aware, or can achieve self-awareness. Personal issues can be discussed, however the emphasis is on performance in work. Life Coaching is offered in Taunton or Islington London.
Life Coaching is not therapy. The key difference is that coaching does not seek to resolve deep underlying issues that may cause problems like poor motivation, low self-esteem and poor job performance. Coaching is more concerned with the practical issues of setting goals and achieving results within specific time-scales.
Becky Wright is a full member of the Association for Coaching. Her membership number is BYW0609M. The Association for Coaching promote excellence & ethics in coaching. She is also a founder member of the BACP Coaching Division
