Jane McQuillin has thirty years experience in the helping professions. She has worked variousIy as a Psychiatric Social Worker; Mental Welfare Officer, Senior Social worker, Family Social Worker and Social Worker with people with a learning disability. She has worked in Adult and Further Education. She has been in private practice as a psychotherapist for ten years, working with individuals, families and groups; she also runs two therapy groups. Her training programme for clinical psychotherapists is recognised by the European Association for Transactional Analysis, EATA, and leads to registration with UKCP. She has run a management consultancy for four years, using Transactional Analysis principles within the particular setting of organisations. She has been a trainer and supervisor within the voluntary sector for ten years.
Jane has been Certified as a Transactional Analyst and endorsed as a Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst by EATA. The latter qualification recognises her prior academic and professional experience and at the same time upholds professional standards in the requirement to have her training and supervision supervised. Jane voluntarily undertakes personal growth and supervision of her clinical work as part of the same commitment to standards.
While Transactional Analysis is Jane’s main theoretical framework, she is eclectic in her approach and works from a person-centred base.
Jane is married, with three grown-up children and one grand-daughter. She has chosen to live in the Lake District for over twenty years.
