I am a therapist and facilitator working in Manchester, Liverpool and North Wales with individuals, couples, groups and communities in the NHS and in private practice.
Having graduated with a Physics Degree from Manchester University I qualified from City College with a Certificate in Counselling Skills in 1994 and moved to York to work as a HIV Counsellor and Trainer. After two and a half years I moved back to Manchester to take up the post of HIV Counsellor with North Manchester General Hospital where I now work part time. In my 6 years of supervised practice I have worked with a wide variety of issues including HIV/AIDS, chronic illness, abuse issues, conflict, sexuality and relationships and am available for e-mail counselling as well as face to face work.
On my return to Manchester I commenced a professional training in Process Oriented Psychology. This is a five year programme leading to a Diploma in Process Work.
My approach to my work is based on the belief that everything we need for our individual and collective growth is already contained in the things which most disturb us. Hence by approaching our difficult experiences with respect and curiosity we can unfold their inherent meaning allowing these stuck processes to move on.
